HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

The snow from last nite is still crusted upon the bushes this morning...and also upon the sidewalk.. it is a bit slippery today as the roads were glazed with a layer of ice...will make travel a bit tricky this morning...we will be heading to my inlaws this afternoon....for the feast...as a child we would find ourselves kneeling by the radio praying that the two feet of snow that had already drifted into the driveway would be ample to close the schools...but i do remember donning a snowmobile snowsuit and having to hoist a back pack over a drift and then jumping myself...and wait for the school bus to roll by....to pick us up...or i remember skating to school on ice holding tight onto the arm of my best friends older brother...(i was in first grade and soooo much in love!!!) he was in 6th grade!!!)
everything looks sooo peaceful outside...and a car tiptoes past once in a while...doesn't look like we will get sun today as the skies are painted shades of grey...although that makes the whiteness of the snow pop...

EVERYONE HAVE A WONDERFUL THANKSGIVING DAY! AS I MENTIONED BEFORE...I AM THANKFUL FOR EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU SWEET ANGELS!

it's snowing!

the trees and bushes and grass is a sparkling white...sooo calm and pretty...DEFINITELY PUTS ME IN THE HOLIDAY MOOD....but then i'm not out driving right now...hee hee...

HAPPY MONDAY...

It just doesn't seem like this week is already THANKSGIVING!!! does it? After visiting the black friday website to see what everyone is offering on sale this friday morning i really didn't see anything that would justify heading out and battling the crowds...did i tell you i was smashed into the moving door frame two thanksgivings ago...half of me was stuck in the hall and half of me was in the store....all started when we were calmly waiting in line (got there at 5) and as the opening time crept forward...people started getting out of their cars and cutting to the head of the line...and people from the back of the line started yelling "DON'T LET THE SCABS IN!!!!" AND THE LINE PUSHED FORWARD AND I WAS LITERALLY PICKED UP AND MOVED FORWARD......people just kept surging and keeping me pinned in place...it was positively terrifying...i had a bruise right up my chest wall bone...no one would stop to help...poor shannon was already in the store and she was screaming that someone help me...they kept pushing her back into the store...EVER SINCE THEN i don't go out...and shop...NOTHING is worth that again....and now with the whole toy scare...

i did make a christmas ornament this week...i couldn't get a good photo of it...it is just beautiful in person...i amazed myself!!!



I also made tiny pillows and tucked in a poem i wrote into a back pocket of each


the poem that is tucked into this pillow reads:


where does life start
when is life done
is nature but a shadow
painted by the autumn sun

belonging to noone
property lines can be drawn
but shadows live and thrive
from the dusk to the dawn

they come and they go
between sun and the moon
changing shape, length, and size
then it's over too soon.


my second set of pillows (there are 4 but i only photo'd one) are made of vintage silk which was originaly a vintage skirt...and i added a beaded wire heart that i made...

TIS THE SEASON.........ALREADY!!!

FOR THE BIG GUY IN RED TO VISIT THE MALL....this santa is wonderful! he even takes the time to visit local hospitals after he has pulled an all day shift day after day... reminds the kids to think of others....

We went to a huge craft show today that usually blows me away...but I was soooo disappointed! (thinking its the caliper of art that i have grown accustomed to being surrounded by...that i have become spoiled with sheer beauty and nothing will compare!!!)

Kind of dreary here today and a bit chilly...ALTHOUGH even coming down off the Billy concert last nite...

THE PACKERS ROCKED TODAY!!!! GO PACK GO!!!!

OH OH OH....IT SEEMS LIKE FOREVER SINCE I POSTED THAT I WAS GOING TO SEE MY BILLY RAY IN CONCERT...WELL TONITE WAS THE NITE!!! AND TOWARDS THE END OF THE CONCERT SHANNON GOT INTO THE AISLE...AND WENT UP FRONT...to get some great shots with the camera...i got some but hers ROCK...well anyway....i went up behind her and yelled for her to hand back the camera...and she had the shirt i bought before the concert....and and and....she handed BILLY MY SHIRT AND GOT IT AUTOGRAPHED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i shot pics of him signing it and i hope that the pics are clear...as i was soooo excited that i was hoppin up and down....i had gotten my jacket autographed when i met him years ago....and i still have that patch from the jacket....(the jacket was forced to be tossed...as i could wrap it around myself twice and my daughter said she would get another autographed for me "someday" if i would get rid of it...) i was over 300 lbs...when he signed the first jacket...i have the pic of me and him in the scrapbook...well tonite i got my autograph....!!! still giddy from the whole experience!!!!i'll post pics tommorrow....!

SOOOO TIRED AND JUST PLAIN ANGRY...

OF ALL THE HARMFUL TOYS THAT HAVE BEEN PLAGUEING...US OF LATE...and today they posted that AQUA DOTS...IF INGESTED...(they stick together when they become wet...(hmmm lets just stick a couple together with a lick of the tongue...yep did that) and now they say that they contain a chemical that is equivalent to THE DATE RAPE DRUG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm beginning to rethink all the toys that were possibly on Christmas lists this year! I am ever so fearful that between the lead paint...tiny magnets from dolls that could fall out and perforate an intestine if swallowed...GOOD LORD...WHAT NEXT!!!...IT'S A WAR ON THE CHILDREN.....
