ART DOLLIE HAT

finished it this morning...you should see my kitchen! MY FIND OF THE SEASON!

Went to the flea market the other day....and found some really fabulous items! If you scroll down the pics on the right you will see maddysen't room...i found that light pink rag rug that is on the floor at the foot of her bed! Still had the price tags attached and after seeing that i was a bit concerned how much they would want for it....good thing i wasn't put off by the price tag....because i got it for only......$2.00!!!! price tag read 149.00!!!! But even though this was a great find...i bought a baggie of junque jewelry...like a gallon size bag...all because of this sparkly vintage pink flower pin in the bag...i had PLANS for that pin! well gave her my 2.00 and put the baggie in a bigger bag...then went home and didn't even open it...well night time came and i put the baggie on the table and ripped into it...i found 4 sterling silver necklaces in the bag too! NOPE...not the find yet...DUG further...and in the center of the heap of stuff..(yes there was quite a bit of "stuff" unclassifiable...that i may never use...hmmmm Christmas is coming though...lol...there in all it's bright apple green glory was an IPOD! 4GB!!!! was deader than a doornail...(where did that saying come from?) i never had an ipod nor knew anything about them...good thing kevin is home as he showed me how to charge it and VOILA! it has 147 songs on it...ALTHOUGH...MANY MANY WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO STAY..LOL...won't get into that! but it works beautifully! woo hooo! i'm IPODin now! and geez...you should hear the REASONS why one of the kids NEEDS this ipod MORE than ME! LOL.... i offered them the "stuff" left in the baggie...

ARRIVAL!!!

ALMOST 300 MOTORCYCLES, FIRETRUCKS, POLICE CARS SIRENS LIGHTS BLARING LEAD THE PARADE!!! AND GUIDED THE FIVE BUS LOADS OF SOLDIERS RETURNING FROM KUWAIT!

Kevin was in bus number two!!! thousands of people showed up for the welcome home celebration...the govenor was there a congressman and many many military brass....

We arrived at 10 in the morning, was one of the hottest days! The guys were supposed to arrive by 1 or before but the bus took two wrong exits and they finally arrived at 3:20...Was a very grand emotional event!

BUSY DAY!

Today we drove out to Hartland to visit with Bruce and Annie! Annie had just gotten off of third shift at the hospital so she was sleeping...We got to meet ELWOOD their new puppy! Elwood is a Puggle. (pug/beagle) He took quite a licking (liking) to maxx! Maxx also got his first Ugly doll. I don't know why but I love those little dolls! (and so did maxx!) This one's name is Target. I've decided that I WANT A COUPLE TOO! I believe if my Muse has a "look" it shall look like an UGLY DOLL! So i'm thinking that i shall put a couple on my on going list...of things the kiddies can get for the mommy person...(they always ask what i would like for little suprises hee hee...) there are soooo many of these little creatures...oh yes i could probably make something like them...but would it be the same?



We found out today that Kevin would actually be arriving two hours early!!!! woo HOOOOO...SO NOW THE HOMECOMING IS AT 1 O'CLOCK INSTEAD OF 3!!! We found out that there were actually soldiers left at the homecoming site...(the first group came in yesterday) and had no rides...sooo sad...there was a HUGE communication problem with the arrival time...so as to not repeat that mistake...i made a bunch of phone calls today to families to make sure they KNEW the guys would be home earlier on sunday!

kevin arrives home with the rest of his platoon between 3 & 4 on sunday afternoon! They will arrive by bus from indiana. the first group arrived today to a grand heros welcome!

robbie has a graduation party today for one of his friends and then david and i have a wedding reception tonite. (they got married on the beach in florida so this is the family party here) then there is the big FLEA MARKET TOMMORROW...

Friday the 13th

Just realized the day/date....Scary? The only thing scary about it is to sit and wonder where the time has gone...Maxx turned 6 months on the 11th and Maddysen will be 6 years this next month on the 19th! wow...we got word yesterday that the flights home for Kevin are being arranged...and word has it he will be HOME...RIGHT HERE...a week from tommorrow (saturday!!!)...I can't say it seems like yesterday that he left...seems more like we are living in two worlds...the one that drags on and on until his return and the one zipping slipping by where the kids have grown so much...

Sunday is the big flea market and i have my list of things to look for but i always keep an open mind. because you NEVER know what will be offered...that can be transformed into something else.

I received some beautiful artwork this week....I'm just in awe of all the different techniques that make us each the same but individually unique! Did some photos as well....

Well off for a new adventure today and who knows where it will lead to...

BATHING IN YELLOW RIBBON...

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!

We spent 7 hours at the zoo yesterday! Then i received 4 bolts of ribbon to make wired bows...to tie onto the fences for when the guys come home from iraq! that means IT'S COMING SOOOOOON! less than a month! We won't even discuss the RUMORS...going around...it will shadow the happy homecoming!

and and and...I GOT TO FEED A GIRAFFE AT THE ZOO! I LOVE GIRAFFES! MY FAV ANIMAL! maybe it's because in my "old age" i'm shrinking (per my son) and they stand sooo tall and are sooo elegant!

well i made 44 ribbon bows last nite...thinking if i work at them each nite...they will be done in a couple days!
